6.4.2 Preliminary steps
Before installing a power supply unit (PSU), perform the following steps:
Ê Locate the defective server as described in section "Locating the defective
server" on page 64.
Ê Remove the AC power cord from its cable bracket and disconnect it from the
PSU module to be replaced as described in section "Disconnecting the
server from the mains" on page 72.
6.4.3 Removing the defective PSU module
Ê Identify the defective PSU module using the server management software.
Ê Remove the defective PSU module as described in section "Removing a
PSU module" on page 181.
6.4.4 Installing the new PSU module
Ê Replace the defective PSU module as described in section "Installing a PSU
module" on page 177.
6.4.5 Concluding steps
Perform the following procedures to complete the task:
Ê Connect an AC power cord to the new power supply module and secure it
with a cable bracket as described in section "Connecting the server to the
mains" on page 133.
Ê If applicable, switch on the server.
Ê Perform a fan test as described in section "Performing a fan test after
replacing a defective fan" on page 157.
