7.4.2.6 Cabling the 2x 3.5-inch HDD extension box
Ê Connect SAS and power cables to the 2x 3.5-inch HDD SAS backplane as
described in section "10x 3.5-inch HDD SAS backplane cabling" on
page 264.
Ê If applicable, connect slimline ODD and LSD module cables as described in
section "Cabling the slimline ODD and LSD" on page 724.
7.4.2.7 Installing HDD modules into the 2x 3.5-inch HDD extension box
Ê Close the front cover and reinstall the ID card as described in section
"Closing the server" on page 112.
Ê Install HDD modules or HDD dummy modules into the additional HDD slots
as described in sections "Installing a 3.5-inch HDD module" on page 274
and "Installing a 3.5-inch HDD dummy module" on page 280.

inch HDD configurations" on page 258.
7.4.2.8 Concluding steps
Perform the following procedures to complete the task:
Ê Reinstall the system fan holder as described in section "Installing the system
fan holder" on page 390.
Ê Reinstall the air duct as described in section "Installing the system air duct"
on page 102.
Ê Close the side / top cover as described in section "Mounting the top cover"
on page 115 (rack server) or "Mounting the side cover" on page 122 (tower
server).
Ê When working on a rack-mounted server, secure it in the rack as described
in section "Sliding the server into the rack" on page 132.
If the server has been completely removed from the rack for maintenance
purposes, reinstall and secure it in the rack as described in section
"Mounting the server in the rack" on page 130.
Ê Reconnect the AC power cords to the power supply units and secure them
with PSU cable brackets as described in section "Connecting the server to
the mains" on page 133.
