Transfer belt lift handle assembly removal
Warning: When replacing the transfer belt lift handle assembly, the two transfer belt lift mechanisms must be
correctly timed or print quality problems and damage will occur.
1. Remove the front door assembly. See “Printer front door assembly removal” on page 4-3
2. Remove the waste toner bottle.
3. Remove the right cover assembly. See “Right cover assembly removal” on page 4-4.
4. Remove the transfer belt unit assembly. See “Transfer belt unit assembly removal” on page 4-16
5. Remove the front left cover. See “Front left cover removal” on page 4-9.
6. Remove the screw (A) securing the plastic cover to the machine.
7. Remove the plastic cover.
8. Gently release the hooks on the two plastic rack gear caps (B) with a small flat-tip screwdriver.
9. Remove the two plastic rack gear caps (B).
10. Remove the screw (C) and washer securing the left hinge pin (D).
11. Remove the left hinge pin (D).
12. Remove the E-clip securing the right hinge pin (E).
13. Remove the right hinge pin (E).
14. Remove the transfer belt lift handle assembly (F) from the machine.
Warning: When extending the two rack gears (G), ensure they do not become bent or damaged.
15. Ensure the two rack gears (G) are fully extended toward the front of the machine before reinstalling the transfer
belt lift handle assembly (F)
Replacement warning: After replacing the transfer belt lift handle assembly (F), the two transfer belt lift
mechanisms (H) must be correctly timed or print quality problems and damage will occur. Once the timing is
correctly set, replace the two plastic rack gears (B).
Replacement warning: When replacing the transfer belt lift handle assembly (F), ensure the two timing marks
on the two sector gears (I) are aligned with the two timing knotches in the two rack gears (G).
Replacement warning: Gently raise and lower the transfer belt lift handle assembly (F) and ensure that the lift
mechanicsm is aligned properly and no binding occurs.
