Controller
This section describes how to remove and replace the integrated storage
controller in the DXi6900 G1 Node.
Caution: Use appropriate ESD precautions, including the use of a
grounding strap, when performing this procedure.
Removing and replacing the integrated storage controller in the Node
includes the following steps:
• Identifying a Failed Integrated Storage Controller
• Removing a Failed Integrated Storage Controller
• Installing a Replacement Integrated Storage Controller
• Enabling Data-at-Rest Encryption on a Replacement Integrated
Storage Controller
Identifying a Failed Integrated Storage Controller
The DXi6900 G1 Node contains an integrated storage controller (Dell
PERC H710) that supports the SAS hard drives in the Node.
To identify a failed integrated storage controller:
1 Access the remote management console (see Accessing Remote
Management on page 25).
