Installing a Replacement Expansion Module ESM
To install the replacement Expansion module ESM canister:
1 Slide the replacement Expansion module ESM canister into the
empty bay until the canister snaps into place, and push the handles
into the closed position (see
Figure 139).
2 Connect the SAS cables to the new ESM canister (see Cabling
Diagrams on page 241):
3 Update the ESM canister firmware:
a Access the Service Menu (see Accessing the DXi6900 G1 Service
Menu on page 38).
b Navigate to Hardware Configuration > Setup external
Storage > Upgrade Array Firmware > Upgrade ESM (EBOD)
firmware.
c Follow the prompts to update the ESM firmware. Make sure to
specify the correct Array module and Expansion module.
