BBERThreshold
TheBackgroundBlockErrorRatioismeasuredasa percentage .Thethresholdcanbesetfrom
0.1%upto50%.
ForlinkswithEthernetonlyservice,8%thresholdisrecommended.Iftherearenoproblems
duringtheinterval,thenforthatthreshold,therecommendedBBERvalueshouldbe0.Since
thesystemprovidesalosslessEthernetservice,thereisthroughputdegradationincaseof
inte rference.ThedegradationisproportionaltotheBBER.
EthernetThresholds‐Capacity
ThisisusedasabasisforcheckingadherencetoaServiceLevelAgreement.Itisthenumber
ofsecondscountthatthelinkcapacityfallsbellowthethreshold.
EthernetThresholds‐Traffic
Thenumberofsecondscountthatreceivedtrafficexceededthisthreshold.Itcanbeusedto
measuretrafficpeaks.
Events,AlarmsandTraps
TheEventsLog
TheEventsLogrecordssystemfailures,lossofsynchronization,lossofsignal,compatibi lity
problemsandotherfaultconditionsandevents.
Alarms(traps)aredisplayedintheEventsLoginthelowerpanelofthemainwindow.The
EventsLogmaybesavedasatextfile.
TheEventsLogincludesthefollowingfields:

»Dateandtimestamp
» Message
»Trapsource
»IPaddressoftheODUthatinitiatedalarm.

TheeventsaredisplayedintheEventsLoginthelowerrighthandpaneloftheRADWIN
