PlanningtheLinkSite
Overview
Linksiteplanningconsistsofasetofsurveys,whichmustbecarriedoutbeforeany
equipmentisbroughttothesite.Ifforsomereason,theoutcomeofan yofthesesurveysis
negative,siterelocationwillneedtobeconsidered.
ASiteSurveyconsistsofthreestages:
1. Preliminarysurvey‐Theproposedlinkisanalyzedintheofficeusingatopographicmap.
2. Physicalsurvey‐Thelocationsoftheindoorandoutdoorequipmentaredeterminedon
site.
3. RadioFrequency(RF)survey‐Itisrecommendedthattheinstallationareabescanned
withaspectrumanalyzer,toidentifyRFinterferencesoastodetermineaclearchannelfor
radioinstallation(onsite).
TheSiteSurvey
Introduction
RADWINwirelesslinksmustbeplannedbeforeinstallation.Thedesignatedinstallationsite
mustbeappraisedtodeterminethatthewirelesssystemisabletooperateefficientlyand
provideconnectivitywithoutsignaldegradation.
RADWIN2000offersawideoperatingfrequencyrange.Afreefrequencychannelmustbe
determinedwithintheoperatingrange,foroptimumperformance.
