4.4.1 Channel Display/Rotary Parameter Examples
Perhaps you might consider it easier to adjust parameter values on the main
screen; however, the channel strip rotary encoders may be used in order to
adjust the same parameter on every channel in a very fast and convenient
way. First, select the desired function with one of the ROTARY ASSIGN keys
in the desk’s center section.
Gain / Calibration The rotary knob adjusts either the input gain level for microphone inputs, or
the calibration level for non-microphone inputs as well as shared mic inputs.
The
and keys have no function in this case.

When accessing a shared microphone input (i.e., consuming a microphone
signal from a remote system, see chapter 5.3.2.1), the Gain mode automati-
cally switches over to local Cal mode (available with SW V3.0 and up).

Panorama / Balance The rotary knob adjusts the L/R balance (for stereo channels) or L/R panning
(for mono channels). Using the key next to the knob, balance or panning is
set to the adjusted value (on, key is lighted) or to center position (off, key is
dark, rotary graph is greyed out), while the adjusted value remains displayed.
The key has no function in this case.

N–X Contribution / AUX Level The rotary knob adjusts the contribution level of this channel to the N–Xor

corresponding key switches the contribution to the selected bus on/off;
the rotary graph is greyed out if set to off, but the adjusted value remains

Dynamics – Compressor Ratio (Available only if the function has been assigned to one of the rotary assign
keys). The rotary knob adjusts the compressor ratio of this channel’s dynam-
ics unit. The corresponding key switches the whole dynamics unit of this
channel on/off, while the key switches only the compressor section of this
channel’s dynamics unit on/off. Both keys need to be activated in order to
