5.3.4 Monitoring Pages
Like all hardware elements, the monitoring and talkback controls in the moni-
toring/TB module (details in chapter 5.5) are available in the GUI as well and
work completely in parallel. This has several advantages: A function can be
controlled from a remote PC, e.g. for service purposes; the user can control
the parameters in the studios from his desk in the control room; or the func-
tions can be activated in the GUI if no hardware module is installed.
When touching MON, the last active monitoring page opens for parameter
adjustment.
Since SW V5.0, the monitoring loudspeakers are automatically muted (cut)
instead of only dimmed if the DJ microphone channel is switched to pre-fader.
5.3.4.1 CR/ST 1 (Control Room/Studio 1) Pages
Source Selector The source selector buttons can be assigned to the desired sources; the cur-
rently selected source is highlighted. After touching the V arrow button,
the Source rotary encoder is activated for selecting additional sources not
assigned on the source selector buttons.
Add This function is very handy for a station takeover. It allows to temporarily
select two sources for monitoring. The second source can be added by touch-
ing Add, and, while Add is highlighted, selecting a second source. Now both
sources are either mixed or sent separately to the two headphone channels
(configurable, see chapter 6.5.24.1); Add will be dark, but the source selec-
tor keys of both active sources will be highlighted. Add is canceled upon
selection of a next source.
PFL to MON Control room and Studio 1 have an additional PFL to MON button that sup-
ports the console’s second PFL circuit (normally used for a remote desk).
Mono When active, both the left and right monitor speakers are fed with a mono
mix of the selected source.
Phase Phase inversion for the left monitor loudspeaker and DJ headphone channel.
5.1 Indicator Indicates whether the monitored source is in 5.1 format.
Stereo Indicator Indicates whether the monitored source is in stereo format.
