The CHAN - 5.1 PAN page only appears if the 5.1 channel surround option
is installed. It allows panning mono and stereo sources within the surround
field in an intuitive way, while the individual parameters may also be edited
from the main screen or desk rotary encoders. There are four different sur-
round panning modes selectable, as well as a direct assignment to the center
and LFE (low frequency effect) channels. Mono and stereo channels still have
their dedicated pan/bal controls for mixing to non-surround buses.
L/R, L/R/C, Ls/Rs, LFE, C, L/R/C/Ls/Rs
Selector buttons for output mode. Depending on the selected mode, panning
is possible either L/R (front, left/right), L/R/C (front, left/right/center), Ls/
Rs (rear, left/right), or L/R/C/Ls/Rs (front, left/right/center - rear, left/right).
In case of the LFE (low frequency effects channel) or C (center channel)
modes, no other panning settings are possible and reasonable.

The corresponding channel bullets (L, R, C, LS, RS) change their color from
gray to yellow if the mono or stereo source contributes to this channel. The
contribution level is displayed next to each active bullet in dB relative to the
source’s signal.
