Controls the PCL print-command
options. PCL is a set of printer
commands that Hewlett-Packard
developed to provide access to
printer features.
Use the Form Length feature to
select the user-soft default vertical
form length.
Orientation Portrait*
Landscape
Select the orientation that is most
often used for copy or scan
originals. Select the Portrait option
if the short edge is at the top or
select the Landscape option if the
long edge is at the top.
Font Source Internal* Selects the font source for the
user-soft default font. The list of
available options varies depending
on the installed printer options.
Font Number Range: 0 – 110
Default = 0
Species the font number for the
user-soft default font using the
source that is specied in the Font
Source menu. The printer assigns a
number to each font and lists it on
the PCL font list. The font number
displays in the Font # column of
the printout.
Font Pitch Range: 0.44 – 99.99
Default = 10
If the Font Source option and the
Font Number setting indicate a
contour font, then use this feature
to select a default pitch (for a
xed-spaced font).
Font Point Size Range: 4.00 – 999.75
Default = 12.00
If the Font Source option and the
Font Number setting indicate a
contour font, then use this feature
to select a default point size (for a
proportional-spaced font).
Symbol Set Select from a list of symbol sets. Select any one of several available
symbol sets from the control
panel. A symbol set is a unique
grouping of all the characters in a
font. The factory default value for
this option is PC-8. Either PC-8 or
PC-850 are recommended for line-
draw characters.
