Perform a rmware upgrade
The rmware bundle is a .bdl le. This le requires an interactive upgrade method. The traditional FTP, LPR or
Port 9100 methods of upgrading are not available. Use one of the following methods to upgrade the rmware
for this printer.
HP Embedded Web Server
NOTE: The printer should be at the Ready state.
The rmware update might take 10 minutes or longer based on the input/output (I/O) transfer rates and the
time it takes for the printer to reinitialize.
1. Open an Internet browser window.
2. Enter the printer IP address in the URL line.
3. Select the Firmware Upgrade link from the General tab or from the Troubleshooting tab.
4. Browse to the location that the rmware upgrade le was downloaded to, and then select the rmware
le—the le has a .bdl le extension. Select the Install button to perform the upgrade.
NOTE: Do not close the browser window OR interrupt communication until the HP Embedded Web
Server (EWS) displays the conrmation page.
5. After the printer reinitializes, print a conguration page and verify that the latest rmware version has
been installed.
