Cause Solution
The printer driver is not set up for duplex printing. Set up the printer driver to enable duplex printing.
The rst page is printing on the back of preprinted forms or
letterhead.
Load preprinted forms and letterhead in Tray 1 with the
letterhead or printed side down, with the top of the page leading
into the printer. For Tray 2-X, load the paper printed side up with
the top of the page toward the right of the printer.
The printer model does not support automatic 2-sided printing. The printer model does not support automatic 2-sided printing.

Cause Solution
The correct size paper is not loaded. Load the correct size paper.
The input tray is empty. Load paper in the input tray.
The correct paper type for the input tray is not selected in the
printer control panel.
From the printer control panel, select the correct paper type for
the input tray. Trays congured for a paper type with a specic
weight range will not match a print job that species an exact
weight, even if the specied weight is within the weight range.
Paper from a previous jam has not been completely removed. Open the printer and remove any paper in the paper path. Closely
inspect the fuser area for jams.
None of the optional trays appear as input tray options. The optional trays only display as available if they are installed.
Verify that any optional trays are correctly installed. Verify that
the printer driver has been congured to recognize the optional
trays.
An optional tray is incorrectly installed. Print a conguration page to conrm that the optional tray is
installed. If not, verify that the tray is correctly attached to the
printer.
The paper size is not congured correctly for the input tray. Print a conguration page or use the control panel to determine
the paper size for which the tray is congured.
The guides in the tray are not against the paper. Verify that the guides are touching the paper.
