1. Grids The grids are in inches and millimeters. They are labeled with
letters and numbers so that defects can be described by position
and by distance between repeats.
2. Color plane registration (CPR) bars After printing, the box with no extra color in each area on each
page shows how far o the CPR of that color is. Each page has two
process direction areas and three scan direction areas that are
labeled x and y and 1–11. The page should be fed by the long
edge. Each square from the center equals 42 microns.
3. Color ramp patches Used to detect oset for the OPC or developer in the image drum
or oset in the fuser.
