16.6 Diagnostics and Restoration of the Standard RAM, Standard
ROM, and CompactFlash Card Drives
An error may occur in the file system if any of the following drives is incorrectly used.
• Standard RAM drive
• Standard ROM drive
• CompactFlash card drive
The following describes how to diagnose and restore the system when an error has
occurred.
(1) How to diagnose the FAT file system of the drive
The file system of the following drives use the FAT format.
• Standard RAM drive
• Standard ROM drive
• CompactFlash card drive
To diagnose the FAT format structure, use the following tools.
(a) VxWorks-standard "chkdsk" command
Execute the chkdsk command in Shell, in Telnet tool, or in the user program.

For the CompactFlash card, errors can be checked by the chkdsk command of a
