Caution: Use appropriate ESD precautions, including the use of a
grounding strap, when performing this procedure.
Removing and replacing an expansion card in expansion card riser 1
includes the following steps:
• Removing an Expansion Card from Riser 1
• Installing an Expansion Card in Riser 1
Removing an Expansion Card from Riser 1
To remove a failed expansion card from riser 1:
1 Shut down the system (see Turning On and Shutting Down the
System on page 23).
2 Remove the Node cover (see Opening and Closing the Node on
page 78).
3 Disconnect any cables connected to the expansion card.
4 Holding the touch points, lift the expansion card riser 1 from the
riser connector on the system board (see
Figure 66).
