these options in the field.
Factory Detect Hardware
Use the Factory Detect Hardware menu to create a factory list of
detected hardware.
You should run Factory Detect Hardware when:
• New hardware is added, or existing hardware is replaced, on the
DXi6900 G1.
Note: It is not necessary to run Factory Detect Hardware after a
storage capacity expansion, after replacing a drive, or after
installing a 10 GbE network card.
• Hardware status functions display incorrect or incomplete
information.
Factory Detect Hardware should show all components to be up and no
component in an error status. If there are errors, make sure the new
hardware is installed correctly.
Note: Hardware status functions may display incorrect information
while Factory Detect Hardware is running.
To perform a factory detect hardware:
1 Access the Service Menu (see Accessing the DXi6900 G1 Service
Menu on page 38).
2 From the Service Menu, type the option for Hardware
Configuration and press <Enter>.
3 From the Service Hardware Configuration Menu, type the option
for Factory Detect Hardware and press <Enter> to create a
factory list of detected hardware. This will take several minutes.
4 When complete, type q to return to the Service Menu.
Note: You can view the updated configuration in the following file:
/opt/DXi/hwdetect/factory.config.
