suitthetargetcharacteristics.
Parameters
1Min.Threshold(dB)
Thetargetstrengthforasingle
targetmustexceedthisthreshold
tobeaccepted.
2Min.EchoLength
Forasingletargetdetectionto
occurthenormalizedecholength
mustexceedthisparameter.
3Max.EchoLength
Asingletargetdetectionrequiresthenormalizedecholengthtobelessthanthe
maximumecholengthsetting.
4Max.PhaseDeviation
Averageelectricalphasejitterbetweensamplesinsideanechofromasingletarget
mustnotexceedthemaximumphasedeviationsettingwheremaximumphase
deviationissetinunitsofphasesteps(128phasesteps=180electricaldegrees).
Recommendedsettingis2to3fornormalconditions.Forweakechoesinnoisy
conditionsyoushouldallowformorejitter(4to10).
Notethatthisparameterisnotvalidforsinglebeamsystems.
5Max.GainCompensation
Thecorrectionvaluereturnedfromthetransducergainmodelmustnotexceed
themaximumgaincompensationsetting.(Thisistheone-waymaximumgain
compensation.Thetwo-waymaximumcompensationwillbe12dB).Allsingle
targetsoutsidetheanglecorrespondingtothechosengaincompensationare
skipped.Thusyoucanreducethesamplevolume(beamangle)bychoosingalower
valueformaximumgaincompensation.
Notethatthisparameterisnotvalidforsinglebeamsystems.

Theistheminimumspacingbetweentwosingleechoesrequiredforacceptance.
7Calibration
ThisfunctionisnotusedontheEK15.
