Purpose
ThepurposeoftheBottomDetectordialogboxistodenetheupperandlowerdepth
limitsmostlikelytobeusedduringtheEK15operation.Inthisdialogbox,youcanalso
modifythesettingforBottomBacksteptochangethebottomdetectionrelativetothe
bottomecho.
Description
TheBottomDetectordialogbox
providesseparatelimitsforminimum
andmaximumdepth.Theselimits
maybeusedtoobtain”bottom
lock”onthedepthwhentheEK15
ispinging.Thesounderneedsthis
locktolocatethecorrectdepth,and
tostayonitduringtheoperation,
eventhoughthedepthchanges
continuously.
TheBottomBackstepparameter
allowsyoutomanuallymodify
whereonthebottomechothedepth
shallbedetected.

off.Clicktoactivateit.
2MinimumDepth
Thebottomdetectorstartsthesearchforthebottomechoatthisdepth.Thedetector
willfailinshallowwaterifyouselectatoolargedepthvalue,andthetailofthe
transmittingpulsemaycauseproblemsifatoosmallvalueisset.
YoucanenterthedesiredMinimumDepthvaluebydraggingthesliderupordown,
orbymeansofthespinbox.
