Description
TheEK15isauniqueproduct.Oneofitsmany
areasofapplicationisinshfarming.Onesingle
EK15installationcanthenbeusedtomonitorthe
shbehaviourandfoodwasteinalargenumberofsh
cages.Thetransducersarethenphysicallyinstalled
insidethecageswiththetransducerfacingupwards.
TheEK15transducerscanalsobeplacedattheseabedinopenwater-orinariver-
forlong-termmonitoringoftheecosystem.Duetothefactthatseveraltransceiversand
transducerscanbeconnectedsimultaneously,youcanforexampleestablishanacoustic
“fence”tomonitorshpassage.
Inordertoadjusttheechogrampresentationstothisuse,theBeamDirectionfunctionis
introduced.Unlikethepresentationonatraditionalshndingechosounder,youcan
selectUpwards.Thepresentationisthenadjustedforatransducerlocatedatthebottom
oftheechogramlookinguptowardstheseasurface.

TheechogrampresentationontheEK15issetupasonatraditionalshnding
echosounder.Theseasurfaceisatthetopoftheechogram.Thetransducersare
locatedclosetothesurface,andthebeamsarefacedfromthetopofthepresentation
andtowardsthebottom.UsethispresentationwhentheEK15transducersare
installedunderthehullofavessel.
2Upwards
TheechogrampresentationontheEK15isturnedup-sidedown.Theseasurfaceis
stillatthetopoftheechogram.However,thetransducersarelocatedatthebottom,
andthebeamsarefacedfromthebottomofthepresentationandupwardstowards
thesurface.UsethispresentationwhentheEK15transducersareinstalledatthe
bottomofshcagesortanks.
