Purpose
ThisprocedureexplainshowtochangetheTimeVaried
Gain(TVG).
TheTVGcanbechosenusingtheEchogramdialog
box,orwiththeTVGbuttonontheActivemenu.This
secondmethodisdescribedinthisprocedure.
Description
TVGmeansTimeV ariedGain.
ThewholeideawithTVGisthatechoesfromshshallhavethesameecholevel(colour)
independentoftheirdepths.
TheEK15hasaTVGrangedownto15000meters,whichforallpracticalpurposesis
unlimited.TheEK15doesnothaveaTVGcompensatedreceiverlikemostotherecho
sounders.IntheEK15theTVGismadeinsoftwareaftertheechoesfromthereceiver(s)
havebeenconvertedtodigitalformat.Inordertomakethisworkthereceivermust
haveverylargedynamicrange.
ThefollowingTVGsettingsareavailable:
aPower(NoTVG)
