15.2 Safety Information
When placing a sampling line and other wires, take care to prevent the patient from strangulation or
asphyxiation
Never use this device in an environment with inflammable anesthetic gases.
Only trained professionals familiar with this Manual are allowed to operate the device.
If the patient is connected to mechanical ventilation equipment supplied by oxygen 93 or an oxygen
concentrator, the accuracy of CO
2
/AG monitoring may not be maintained. It shall not be used with gas
supplied from oxygen concentrators.
All parts or accessories except the Respironics pathway adaptor does not contain phthalates or other
substances, which are classified as endocrine disrupting, carcinogenic, mutagenic.
The Respironics pathway adaptor contains phthalates, such an indication is marked on the packaging.
Take increased care during the treatment of children and the treatment of pregnant and nursing women,
who may have an allergy to this substance.
When the patient is being treated with nebulized drugs the measured EtCO
2
value may be inaccurate,
and thus it is not recommended to use it under such a circumstance.
The EtCO
2
measured by the CO
2
module may differ slightly from the partial pressure of carbon dioxide
(PCO
2
) measured by an arterial blood gas analyzer.
The CO
2
module supports auto alarm inhibition function and is only active after first detection of
respiratory activity. Please make sure that the device is connected properly to the patient before putting
the CO
2
respiratory monitor into use.
The sampling gas of sidestream CO
2
module is the mix of air and oxygen only. The exhaust gas could be
emitted to the environment for disposal.
15.3 Adverse Effects on Performance(Masimo)
1) The following factors are known adverse effects on the specified performance:
Quantitative effects of RH or condensation;
Quantitative effects of barometric pressure;
Interfering gas or water vapor; and
Other interference sources.
2) Gas Measurement Unit
Use volume percentage as the gas concentration unit. The concentration calculation formula is:
