Chapter 5 Patient Management
5.1 Discharging a Patient
The previous patient should be discharged before monitoring a new patient. After discharge, the monitor will enter
the idle state. Depending on the circumstance, you can select [Monitor] (Quick Admit) or [Patient Management]
(Normal Admit) to select how to admit a patient.
WARNING
The previous patient should be discharged before monitoring a new patient; otherwise, data of the new
patient will be saved to data of the undischarged patient.
The patient can be discharged manually in any of the following ways:
Select the [Discharge Patient] hot key
Select the Patient Information Area at the upper left corner of the screen select [Discharge Patient]
Select the [Patient Information] hot key select [Discharge Patient].
Select [Main Menu], and select [Discharge Patient] from the [Patient Management] column.
In the pop-up dialog box:
Select [Discharge Patient]: All patient data, including patient information, trend data, alarm messages and
wave data will be cleared; the system will restore to its default configuration and enter the Standby screen.
Select [Clear Data]: The current patient will not be discharged and the current configuration will still be used,
but all patient data will be cleared.
5.2 Admitting a Patient
WARNING
Regardless of whether a patient is admitted or not, make sure the settings in [PAT Info] are consistent with
the patients actual conditions before monitoring.
When the patient type is not changed, the current configuration is not changed.
For the patient without pacemaker, [Pacer] must be set to [OFF].
If the patient is admitted with a pacemaker, [Pacer] should be set to [ON]. Otherwise, pacemaker pulses
may be counted as normal QRS wave. And when the ECG signal is too weak, the monitor may not detect
pacer pulse and will not alarm as an abnormal condition.
