A solvent filter is installed either:
¡ Inside the frame of the gas purifier
¡ In close proximity to the gas purifier or in the glovebox stand for special applications
7.4.1 Manually operated solvent filters (activated carbon only)
Circulation mode
It is in serial arrangement with the reactor. The circulating atmosphere flows first through
the LMF and second it flows through the RKM. Therefore solvents are removed before
hydrogen and oxygen.
Bypass mode
In bypass mode, the manual inlet and outlet valve of the LMF are closed. The box atmo-
sphere only circulates through the reactor, bypassing the solvent filter. This operating
mode can be selected if solvents are not accumulated in the box atmosphere. It can also
be chosen if the activated carbon of the solvent filter is to be exchanged.
