11.1.4 Antechamber
Fault Debug
Power failure
(Siemens PLC-controlled
antechambers)
If power is available:
► Refill antechamber.
If no power is available:
► Eliminate vacuum by loosing a flange on the pip-
ing outside the antechamber.
Unexpected pressure in-
crease or drop
► Check connections of working gas / purge gas
and vacuum pump.
► Check seals.
► Perform a leak test.
Antechamber door mechan-
ism jammed
Risk of damage to the locking mechanism:
► Do not use force to open.
If there is a vacuum and it must be eliminated to open
the door:
► Loosen screws on the flange below the antecham-
ber.
Antechamber door mechan-
ism jammed
If the door is locked:
► Check whether the “door locked” status is dis-
played on the touch panel.
► Check for vacuum in the antechamber.
If the fault cannot be eliminated with the debug possibilities in the table above and there
is vacuum or overpressure in the antechamber:
WARNING
Inert gas atmosphere escapes into the room
Personal injury
► Conduct a risk analysis with regard to toxic gases inside the glovebox or enclosure
and the requirement of a safe transfer out (and in) procedure with external purge or
refill gas before starting the transfer out sequence.
► In doubt use personal protection equipment (PPE).
► Eliminate vacuum by loosing a flange on the piping outside the antechamber.
