6.3 Gas purifier operating modes
Circulation The blower circulates the glovebox atmosphere through the re-
actor to filter out moisture and/or oxygen:
¡ In double purification systems (dp), only one reactor is act-
ive.
¡ The reactor must be regenerated before circulation is star-
ted.
Circulation through
the solvent filter
Like circulation mode, but with activated solvent filter. That
means, the circulation passes the solvent filter and the RKM.
Box purge The circulation is switched off and purge gas is blown into the
glovebox. The purge gas can be supplied by the working gas
connection through the purifier or by an external source. This
mode is triggered by selectable conditions (H

0, O

, RH-%) de-
pending on the specific box process.
Reactor regenera-
tion
The system runs the regeneration sequence for a RKM. The re-
actor in regeneration mode is not available for circulation.
Solvent filter regen-
eration
Only if equipped with a regenerative LMF. In all other cases, the
filter load must be exchanged.
Reactor and
solvent filter regen-
eration
The system runs the regeneration sequence for a RKM.
Only one reactor can be regenerated. A reactor in regeneration
mode is not available for circulation.
Optional with a regenerative MB-LMF 2/40 REG : a regeneration
of an LMF can be started in parallel to the reactor.
Since the vacuum pump is a common resource for both, during
reactor and solvent filter regeneration, the unit that is activated
first has priority. The unit activated second is regenerated after a
delay.
A dedicated solvent filter vacuum pump is available as option. If
it is used, solvent filter regeneration will occur independently of
reactor regeneration.
Regeneration with open windows is available as a special fea-
ture. Please ask MBRAUN Service
MB-ECO Mode Energy saving operation mode, only available when glovebox is
operated with overpressure operation (for details refer to chapter
"ECO Mode").
¡ The box pressure is controlled through the blower but at a
reduced drive.
¡ The vacuum pump is switched off.
¡ Where appropriate, the box light is switched off.
