3.3 Statement of the manufacturer
At the time of delivery, the system and its installed faultless and active safety devices
have complied with all applicable safety requirements. Potential hazards during operation
of the system were, by means of mechanical design, control logic or technical measures
audited with risk analysis.
In accordance with the regulations and generally recognised technical rules, guards and
safety devices have been provided to prevent, to the greatest possible extent, dangerous
activities on the system.
The system is designed
¡ to provide an operator a safe working place, provided the operator adheres to per-
sonal protection standards stated in this manual.
¡ to provide a HMI designed to secure safe operation. The Siemens PLC allows an op-
erator to manually control the system in any situation. It provides the operator with an
easy fallback for safe operation in dangerous situations. In dangerous situations it al-
lows an operator easy to fall back to a safe operation.
Despite all of the safety measures taken, if a crucial part breaks or in case of faulty oper-
ation, there may be a risk of fatal injury to operator and to 3rd party personnel, well as
damage to the system or other property. The standard system operates with a safety
level Cat b acc. to EN ISO 13849-1.
To minimise residual risks and to maintain conditions for safe operation:
Follow applicable and generally accepted safety and occupational health rules.
Follow the instructions provided in this operating manual.
Ensure that any operator of the system is aware of the residual risks during opera-
tion and is prepared for accidents (e.g. fire or the escape of dangerous substances).
Keep emergency equipment (e.g. fire extinguisher, gas mask, first aid kit) available
and easily accessible for personnel.
Check that all safety devices are contained (e. g. proximity switches, safety valves,
guard locks) as described in the instructions, as well as the integrity of all gas supply
pipes and power supply lines.
Operate the system preferred with one person. If more than one person operates the
system, ensure that person’s tasks do not interfere with those of the other person.
