They must also ensure that all persons working with the MBRAUN inert gas system are
obligated to adhere to the following requirements for avoiding improper operation and in-
juries:
¡ All personnel are aware of any risks related to the system and process operation.
¡ All personnel have read the information in this manual that applies to their individual
responsibilities and tasks related to the system.
¡ All personnel must receive training/updates at regular intervals to ensure that the in-
formation they are requiring is up to date, especially information regarding safety is-
sues.
¡ All personnel must follow the defined standard operating procedures.
¡ All personnel must use personal protective equipment during operation and work
when required.
3.6 Duties of the operating company
In addition to the guidelines and information contained in this operating manual, it is the
responsibility of the operating company to follow all applicable local accident prevention,
environmental, health, and safety guidelines and regulations with regard to the handling
and disposing of substances that may be hazardous to health.
Safety precautions
It is the obligation of the operating company to take the following safety precautions and
safety measures for the protection of personnel:
¡ Fire extinguisher (fighting fires involving electrical devices)
¡ A properly lit and ventilated workplace
¡ Safety instructions on a regular basis
¡ Regular inspection of safety devices and replacement of defective devices
Standard operating procedures (SOPs)
After classifying and assessing the substances being used, the operating company’s
safety representatives must establish standard operation procedures (SOPs) for
¡ normal operation,
¡ foreseeable hazards.
The following must be implemented by the operating company:
¡ Establishment of working procedures according to the specific hazard and risk ana-
lysis in consideration of the applicable data sheets and standards.
¡ Agreement of the procedures with the
¡ security manager,
¡ fire safety officer and emergency physician,
¡ radiation safety officer (if applicable).
