Requirements for safe operation with 3rd party gloveboxes
The following listed requirements must be fulfilled, if a 3rd party glovebox is connected to
a MBRAUN gas purifier:
¡ As part of the system, the pressure sensor must be connected to the appropriate pos-
ition on the glovebox to constantly monitor the enclosure atmosphere for the correct
internal pressure inside. If in doubt, please contact MBRAUN.
¡ The glovebox attached to the gas purifier must be equipped with a tested overpres-
sure and negative pressure protection.
3.2 Improper use
The following uses of the system are considered improper:
¡ Using the standard system for any application which requires personal protection
without consulting MBRAUN in advance.
¡ Modification of the system or any of its accessories without authorisation by
MBRAUN
¡ Operating the system outside the parameter limits specified in at least one of the fol-
lowing document types, that are considered part of the contract:
¡ in this operating manual
¡ in any delivered technical documentation
¡ in the system specification(s)
¡ Operating the system outside the specified temperature range and outside the spe-
cified on-site requirements. Using the system in a room that does not fulfill the on-site
requirement (refer to On-site conditions [}2 - 28]).
¡ Failing to repair a broken part of the system or not to replace a wear part in time.
¡ Bridging limit switches, valves, or any control or safety component.
¡ Employing personnel to work on the system, who are not skilled (refer to Qualification
of personnel [}3 - 4]) or not familiar with the content in this operating manual relev-
ant to their tasks and responsibilities.
¡ Handling of potentially combustible and/or explosive substances without the appropri-
ate safety measures and safety features.
¡ Continuing use of the system without a thorough technical audit of the electrical and
mechanic components after the life-cycle has expired. This does not include wear
parts. The design life-cycle of the static mechanical parts and electrical components
of the system is 10years.
¡ Operating the system with open windows without switching off the mains power sup-
ply (regeneration operation with open window for maintenance work require specific
features that are not included in standard systems).
