2.3.3 Optional: double purifier (dp)
1a Reactor 1 1b Reactor 2
2 Blower 3 Heat exchanger
¡ Figure left: reactor 1b is regenerated while the box atmosphere is circulated through
reactor 1a.
¡ Figure right: reactor 1a is regenerated while the box atmosphere is circulated through
reactor 1b.
This allows uninterrupted operation of the glovebox.
2.3.4 Optional: solvent filter
A solvent filter is an optional component. A solvent filter removes solvent vapours from
the working gas and protects the reactor against the adverse effects of solvents.
Depending on the process being run in the glovebox/enclosure, the MBRAUN solvent fil-
ters are filled with various filter media. The filter efficiency and the adsorption capacity de-
pends on the properties of the solvents (e.g. boiling point, vapour pressure, chemical
nature), on the nature of the filter medium, on operating conditions such as ambient air
temperature and on the process gas used.
The solvent filters are available either with activated carbon as a disposal filter or as re-
generative solvent filters.
