Activated carbon solvent filter
Standard solvent filters are loaded with activated carbon. If the capacity of the load is ex-
hausted, the carbon must be replaced by a new load. Bypass operation is possible while
replacing the filter material.

¡ Left figure: the solvent filter(4) is activated for circulation. The working gas stream,
loaded with solvent vapours, passes through the solvent filter before passing through
the reactor(1).

Regenerative solvent filters
MBRAUN recommends regenerative solvent filters (MB-LMF 2/40 REG) in situation
where there is a high demand of solvent purification.
With a regenerative solvent filters, a Siemens PLC-controlled, repeatable, regeneration
process refreshes the solvent filter for the next use.
The regeneration is based on the same approach that applies to the reactors.
MBRAUN offers regenerative solvent filters in a double configuration. Following on the
principle of a “dp”-filter system as outlined above, that configuration provides a manual or
an automatic MB-LMF-AUTO switch over from the exhausted solvent filter to the fresh fil-
ter. This allows uninterrupted operation of the glovebox (24/7 operation). In Standard con-
