9 Pipework inlet Gas flow from the gas purifier to the glovebox inlet.
10 Pipework out-
let
Gas flow from the glovebox outlet to the gas purifier inlet.
11 Frame Supports the glovebox.
12 Foot Adjustable, used to level the glovebox.
13 Castors For moving the glovebox into position.
14 Gloves Gloves made of Butyl (or other material) with low gas per-
meability and high tolerance to chemical process materials.
Fixed on gloveports in the box window.
15 Particle filter HEPA filter in gas inlet and outlet:
¡ protects the gas purifier against particle contamination
created by processes and materials in the glovebox
¡ keeps particles out of the pipework
16 Media feed-
throughs
Flange feedthroughs for suppling the glovebox, e.g. gas, elec-
tricity, USB interface.
17 Shelves Storage for tools and materials needed to handle the sub-
stances inside and to run the processes.
18 Sidewall screwed sidewall.
Gloves
Gloves are fixed on the gloveport feedthroughs with O-rings. In case of unintentional box
overpressure, a glove breaks away from the gloveport feedthrough and prevents further
damage. Typically:
¡ a glove breaks to the outside occurs with a box pressure of about +35 mbar (3,500
Pa) inside
¡ a glove breaks to the inside occurs with a box negative pressure of about -44
mbar(-4,400 Pa) inside
Butyl gloves are used by MBRAUN for all standard boxes. Other materials are available
as request by the user.
