Working limit set
points
Adjustable set points for the working pressure range from
-14.5 mbar to +14.5 mbar (-1.45 kPa to +1.45 kPa). If these
maximum or minimum set points are exceeded, automatic
pressure regulation is triggered.
The upper working set point should at least be 1 mbar higher
than the set point for the lower working pressure.
Working range Several things may cause the box pressure to vary. One cause
is glove movements by operator’s actions. The automatic box
pressure control will keep the box pressure within the working
range without any operator interference.
Alarm limit set points Maximum pressure set points outside the working range, ex-
clusively used for system safety.
¡ Lower alarm point: factory setting -15 mbar
¡ Upper alarm point: factory setting +15 mbar.
These settings can only be changed by MBRAUN Service. In
special cases where the glovebox/enclosure is equipped with
mechanical pressure relieve valves, the alarm limit set points /
working range values are customised.
If the pressure rises to the upper alarm limit set point or falls to
the lower alarm limit set point, the gas supply valve or the gas
withdrawal valve is closed and locked. Circulation is stopped,
and an alarm is triggered.
Example of box pressure setting
Working range
Low pressure, system reaction: Siemens PLC starts gas supply into the glove-
box/enclosure
High pressure, system reaction: Siemens PLC starts gas withdrawal from the
glovebox/enclosure
1a Lower alarm limit set point
1b Upper alarm limit set point
