Step Action
1.
Ventthechambertoatmosphere.
2.
Looseneachcaptivescrew(5places).SeeFigure6-8forscrewpositions.
3.
Tightenthethreenylontipsetscrewstobreaktheo-ringseal.
NOTE: Thenylontippedsetscrewsareusedtobreaktheo-ringsealafterbakingthechamber.
4.
Toraisethelid,turnthecrankhandleontopoftheLifterinacounter-clockwisedirection.
5.
Usingthehandle,turnthehandwheelinthedirectionofthearrowonthelabel.Continueturninguntil
thelidisina90°position(approximately75turns).
Ifturningthecrankintheproperdirectiondoesnotcausethelidtoraise,stopimmediatelyandrecheck
thatthesystemisnotinvacuum,thesealhasbeenreleased,andthecaptivescrewsarecompletely
loosened.
Lowering the Lid
Step Action
1.
Beforeclosingthelid,inspecttheo-ringforanysignofdamage.Replacetheo-ringifnecessary.
2.
Turnthehandleonthehandwheelintheoppositedirectionofthearrowtolowerthelid.
3.
Loosenthethreenylontipsetscrewstoallowthelidtorestontheo-ringseal.
NOTE: Thenylontippedsetscrewsmustbeloosetoobtainvacuum.
4.
Tighteneachcaptivescrew(5places).SeeFigure6-8forscrewpositions.
NOTE: DONOTTIGHTENthescrewsafterthechamberisatvacuum.
