Marathon Express Frames of Reference
BeforesettingstationsorusingtheMarathonExpressClusterToolIntegrationPlatform,itis
importanttounderstandtheFramesofReferenceusedwithinthesystem.
Materialistransportedtospecificlocations,orstations,withinthesystembytherobot.Each
locationisdefinedbyitsTandRpolarcoordinatesanditsZpositionwithinthesystem’sFrameof
Reference.Stationdefinitionistheprocessofdefiningeachoftheselocations,whicharethen
storedintherobot’smemoryforfuturereferencebytherobot.Itisimportanttonotethatthe
system’sframeofreferenceisdefinedbytherobotasdescribedbelowandthateachstationis
definedbytheR,T,Z,andotherstationvaluesprogrammedintotherobot.
