To achieve a purity of 100 ppm, the required consumption of purge gas (=working gas)
should be 11.5 times the glovebox volume.
Manual purge
The manual purge must be performed on all the components, including built-in options
such as a freezer etc.
During a manual inertisation (purging) of the glovebox, a flexible reinforced hose, that is
guided through an opening into the glovebox interior, transfers working gas to the interior.
The opening can be a flange on the rear of the glovebox.
This ensures the presence of a pure atmosphere after the commissioning purge process.
Otherwise the residual ambient air will cause a long-term decreased quality of the glove-
box atmosphere until the natural gas exchange takes place.
Safety
DANGER
Inert gas displaces oxygen in the room
Risk of suffocation
► Make sure, that the requirements to the clear room volume are followed. Make suffi-
cient room volume available.
► Make sure that the room is sufficient ventilated.
Prerequisites
¡ All connections have been made properly.
¡ Analysers are still switched off, the system functions “Circulation” and “Regeneration”
are not activated and the freezer is switched off.
¡ All antechamber doors are closed.
¡ The connections for manual purging have been made (refer to Connecting the system
[}4 - 21]).
¡ Sufficient working gas (purge gas) is available.
¡ The freezer and other equipment must be at room temperature.
