Operating Manual - V5.0 - 04/2018 - STD
If there is equipment inside the glovebox, such as freezer or a cold well, add approx.
5 min of additional purge time for each piece of equipment with the reinforced hose
inside (where applicable).
Move the hose around the equipment.
Pay special attention to the interior of equipment and to integrated areas of low gas
movement e. g. around fixtures, in corners and around integrated components.
After the manual purge is finished, remove the reinforced hose from the glovebox in-
terior.
Close the “blind flange”.
Close the valve on the purge gas source.
Finalising the inertisation
After the manual purge is finished as described above, switch a regenerated RKM
to circulation mode (refer to Circulation [}7 - 8]).
The RKM was regenerated at the factory.
In case of an “dp” inert gas system: RKM1 was regenerated at the factory
Activate the analysers.
Monitor readings of the O
2
analyser.
ð The O
2
concentration should fall below 100 ppm (V) within approx. 1 min.
If the O
2
concentration does not fall below 100 ppm (V) within approx. 1 min, switch
circulation off.
Deactivate the analysers.
Purge an additional 15 minutes per 1m
3
glovebox volume.
Activate the circulation and analysers again.
Inertising with the automatic purge function
If the inert gas system is equipped with one of the optionally available automatic purge
functions (refer to Included description of optional features [}1 - 5]), the function can be
used for inertisation of the system.
Switch glovebox system on.
Activate glovebox purge function.
ð The box purge function delivers about 0.2m
3
purge gas / minute. Supplying 11 m
3
purge gas into the box interior, as required for 1m
3
of interior volume, takes about
55minutes.
If there is additional equipment inside the box, such as freezer or cold well, wait an-
other 5 minutes for each of piece equipment.
After the wait time check the readings on the O
2
analyser.
ð The O
2
concentration should be below 100 ppm (V).
If the O
2
concentration is above 100 ppm (V), continue with the box purge until the
O
2
concentration is below 100 ppm (V).
Deactivate the glovebox purge function.
Activate circulation with regenerated RKM.
