¡ If an (effective) endless gas source is used for an automatic or a manual box
purge, the identical conditions (refer to Preparing the site [}4 - 13]) have to be
applied as they are applied in cases, the conditions of the site location are not
met.
Risk of O
2
concentration falling below minimum (18%)
If the room size requirements of the site location are not met or an endless gas source is
used, there is a risk of the O
2
concentration to fall below the lowest allowed level.
► In such locations attach a note at the room door, e.g. “In case of a glove tear during
glovebox operation, the room is allowed to be entered only wearing an oxygen
mask”.
► Alternatively: an additional security kit is available. It stops the gas supply through a
redundant interlock system. It can be ordered at MBRAUN.
► Additionally, MBRAUN recommends securing the site location with a gas monitor
that triggers an alarm if the oxygen concentration falls below the required minimum
level.
► The concentration alarm allows entering the room only wearing an oxygen mask. If
the alarm is on, only experienced and skilled personnel are allowed to enter the
room.

Installation of system components in different locations
If the gas purifier and the glovebox are installed in different locations, the instructions out-
lined above apply to both components.
