Additional purge gas for manual inertisation (5a/5b)
Overview
Use Manual Purging method and filling the system with the desired
inert working gas:
¡ If commissioning for the first time,
¡ after servicing or repairs of the system
Gas type Nitrogen, argon or helium
Purity Medium purity from bottles or other supply equipment (recom-
mended: 4.8 or higher; same as working gas)
Quantity Approx. 14 … 15 m

The same base gas for both, additional purge gas and working gas must be used
(e.g. when using Argon as the working gas, then the additional purge gas must be Argon)
Pressure regulation
Connection equipment provided by operating company: pressure reduction valve for
purge gas.
Use Pressure control of the purge gas when manual purging is ap-
plied
Pressure 200 bar (20 MPa) on operating company’s supply line (primary),
3.0 … 5.0 bar (0.3 … 0.5 MPa) at connection point (secondary)
Flow rate > 200 l/min
Connection type Ø 9 mm hose
Additional purge gas inlet (5a)
Purge gas inlet through an open flange and via open end of the purging gas hose.
Connection equipment provided by operating company: supply hose for purge gas.
Use Connecting the purge gas source (output of the pressure regu-
lator) to the purge gas hose to feed in purge gas into the glove-
box
Material Length as required
Additional purge gas outlet (5b)
Through the same open flange where the purge gas hose is insert into the glovebox.
