6.10.1 Opening and closing the caps manually
The caps can be opened and closed manually when the printer is turned off.
Note
Manual operation should be performed only when the printer is turned off.
Otherwise, the printer parts may start to move during the operation, which may damage the parts
or injure the operator.
1. Remove the COVER(SIDE-R)-MW
(see 6.3.7).
2. Insert a 4 mm hexagonal wrench into the
capping unit side from the opening on
the right side, and rotate it clockwise to
open the caps or counterclockwise to
close the caps.
Notes
 Half-closed or full-closed positions cannot be chosen with manual operation. The caps are
positioned as they were just before.
 To switch between half-closed and full-closed positions, turn the printer on and perform the
operation on the panel.
