8.11 Media Heater Section
8.11.1 Configuration
The media heater hardware consists of the following units.

Display capabilities can be switched
using the heater button on the panel.
IPB5 board
● Heater control
● DA converter for detecting
thermistor temperature
The heater control of this device is done
not by an independent CPU, but by the
firmware running on the main CPU
(SH3).
ACT3 board
● TRC-MW board interface.
● Thermistor interface
TRC-MW board
Controls ON/OFF of the AC
power supplied to each heater.
● An external fuse is installed on the
TRC-MW board. This fuse blows in
case of overcurrent. Replace the fuse
if it has blown.
● On the TRC-MW board, there is a
LED lighting up when each triac
driving is turned ON.
Checking the LED enables you to
locate the problem, whether it is on
the AC side or on the control side.
Preheater
A heater to warm up the
supply-side paper guide.

Printheater
A heater to warm up the platen.

Afterheater
A heater to warm up the take-up
side paper guide.
