3.2.3 Starting and stopping a spindle manually
Procedure
1. Select the "JOG" operating mode.
2. Press the "T, S, M" softkey.
3. Select the desired spindle (e.g. S1) and enter the desired spindle
speed (rpm) in the adjacent input field.
The spindle remains stationary.
4. If the machine has a gearbox for the spindle, set the gear stage (e.g.
auto).
5. Select a spindle direction of rotation (clockwise or counterclockwise) in
the "Spindle M function" field.
6. Press the <CYCLE START> key.
The spindle rotates.
7. Select the "Stop" setting in the "Spindle M function" field.
Press the <CYCLE START> key.
The spindle stops.
Note
Changing the spindle speed
If you enter the speed in the "Spindle" field while the spindle is rotating, the new speed is
applied.
