Storagepriortoinstallationoruse
Whenasystem,aunitoraspareparthasbeendeliveredtothecustomer,itmaybe
subjecttolongtimestoragepriortoinstallationanduse.Duringthisstorageperiod,
certainspecicationsmustbemet.Theequipmentmustbepreservedandstoredinsuch
awaythatitdoesnotconstituteanydangertohealth,environmentorpersonalinjury.
1Theequipmentmustbestoredinitsoriginaltransportationcrate.
2Ensurethattheunitsareclearlyseparatedintheshelvesandthateachunitiseasily
identiable.
3Thecratemustnotbeusedforanypurposeforwhichitwasnotintended(eg.work
platformetc.).
4Thecratesmustnotbeplacedontopofeachother,unlessspecicmarkingspermit
this.
5Thecratesmustnotbeplaceddirectlyonadirt-oor.
6Donotopenthecrateforinspectionunlessspecialcircumstancespermitso.
•“Specialcircumstances”maybesuspecteddamagetothecrateanditscontent,or
inspectionsbycivilauthorities.
•Ifanyunitsaredamaged,prepareaninspectionreportstatingtheconditionofthe
unitandactionstaken.Describethedamageandcollectphotographicevidenceif
possible.Re-preservetheequipment.
•Iftheunitsarenotdamaged,checkthehumidityabsorbingmaterial.Ifrequired,
dryorreplacethebags,thenre-packtheunit(s)accordingtothepacking
instructions.
7Ifthecratehasbeenopened,makesurethatisitclosedandsealedafterthe
inspection.Usetheoriginalpackingmaterialasfaraspossible.
8Thestorageroom/areamustbedry,withanon-condensingatmosphere.Itmust
befreefromcorrosiveagents.
9Thestoragearea’smeantemperaturemustnotbelowerthan-10°C,andnotwarmer
than+50°C.Ifotherlimitationsapply,thecrateswillbemarkedaccordingly.
10Thecratemustnotbeexposedtomoisturefromuidleakages.
11Thecratemustnotbeexposedtodirectsunlightorexcessivewarmthfromheaters.
12Thecratemustnotbesubjectedtoexcessiveshockandvibration.
13Iftheunitcontainsnormalbatteries,thesemayhavebeendisconnected/isolated
beforetheunitwaspacked.Thesemustonlybereconnectedbeforetheinstallation
starts.Unitscontainingbatteriesaremarked.
Caution
Unitscontaininglithiumoralkalinebatteriesmustbehandledseparately
andwithcare.Suchunitsaremarkedaccordingly.Donotattemptto
rechargesuchbatteries,openthemordisposeofthembyincineration.
