Thisdoublingplatemustbeatleast1.5timesasthickasthesurroundingshell
plating.Thedoublingplate’snaldimensionsmustbegovernedbytheapproved
installationdrawingssuppliedbytheshipyard.
7Stiffenthetrunkinboththefore-and-aftandathwartshipdirectionsbywelding
knee-platesbothtothetrunkandtothedoublingplate.

Purpose
IfyouarereplacingaSimradSX90orSP90
sonarsystemwithanewSU90system,
youcanusetheexistingtrunk.However,
duetothelargertransducerontheSU90,a
dedicatedtrunkextensionmustbemounted
ontopofyouexistingtrunk.
Prerequisites
Theinstallationshipyardmustprepareand
provideallrelevantresources.

Theinstallationshipyardmustprovideallnecessaryinstallationdrawings,andif
required,thesemustbeapprovedbytheapplicableauthorities.

Procedure
1Cleanthetopoftheexistingtrunkthoroughly.
Makesurethatthesurfaceisplainanevenwithoutscratches,dentsorotherdamage.
2Cleanthetrunkextension.
3Placethegasket(O-ring)initsthreadatthetopoftheexistingtrunk.
4ApplyO-ringlubrication.
5Placethetrunkextensioncarefullyontopoftheexistingtrunk,andmountitwith
thebolts.
