Important
Ifthevesselislikelytooperateintropicalconditions,asuitableairconditioningsystem
mustbeinstalled.Thissystemmustbeabletoprovideanambienttemperaturenot
exceedingthemaximumoperatingtemperaturesofthecabinetsinstalledintheroom.
Cableprotection
Ifthecablesbetweenthesonarroomequipmentandothersystemunitslocatedin
differentcompartmentsonthevesselpassthroughhatchesorareaswheretheymaybe
damaged,theymustberunthroughconduits(minimum2”conduitisrecommended).
Electricalinstallationsandlights
Thesonarroommustbeequippedwithsuitablelightingtosimplifytheinstallationand
toaidfuturemaintenance.Aminimumnumberofelectricaloutletsmustbeprovided
forthesystemunitsandotherequipment.
Bilgepumpanddecking
Ifthesonarroomislocatedbelowthewaterline,itmustbeconnectedtothevessel's
bilgepumpsystem.Ifthisisnotpossible,aseparatebilgepumpforthesonarroommust
beinstalled.Oncetheinstallationhasbeencompleted,thesonarroommustbesuitably
deckedwithoutrestrictingaccesstotheequipmentandthecables.
Liftingdevice
Anattachmentpoint,ratedataminimumoftwo-2-tons,forsupportingaliftingdevice
shouldbelocatedabovethehullunit.Thispermanentlyinstalledxturewillfacilitate
installationtrunkandhullunitmounting,andalsomaybeusedforfutureequipment
maintenanceorreplacement.
Communication
Thesonarroommustbeequippedwithatelephone,anintercomsystem,oranyother
meansoforalcommunicationbetweenthesonarroomandthebridgeand/orcontrol
room.
