Basicrequirements

Installationofthebridgeunitsmustbeperformedbyqualiedandtrainedpersonnel.

Thelocationofeachunitmustbedecidedwithregardtothefollowingbasicinstallation

requirements.

•Thesafenavigationofthevessel

•The"Compasssafedistance"foreachindividualunit.

•Ergonomicallycorrectoperatingandviewingheights.

•Maximumallowablecabledistancesbetweenthevariousunits.

•Environmentalrequirements–theinstallationareasmustbedry,wellventilated

andfreeofexcessivedustandvibration.

•Maintenanceaccess–easyaccesstothecableconnectionsontherearsideofthe

equipmentmustbeprovided.

•Enoughextracableisallowedtofacilitatemaintenanceandservicebynothaving

todisconnectthecables.

Locationofthecolourdisplay

Forbestreadability,thedisplaymonitorshouldbelocatedsothatitisbestprotected

fromglare.Inmostcases,thedisplaymaybe:

•Panelmounted

•Desktopmounted

•Bulkheadmounted

•Overheadmounted

Refertothedisplaymonitor'sinstructionmanualforthecompasssafedistance.

Ifseveralcolourdisplaysaremountedonthebridgeforusewithvarioussonars,echo

soundersandradarsystems,wesuggestthatyouinstalladisplayselectordevice.A

displayselectorwillallowyoutosetuptheSU90(oranyothersystem)tobeviewedon

anydisplay,andthismaybechosendependingonthecurrentoperationstakingplace.
