ReactivatingtheWindowslicense
Purpose
Thisprocedureassumesthatyouhaverestoredyourcomputerfromagenericoperating
systembackup.Usingthismethod,theWindowslicenseonthecomputeriswrong,
anditisnotactivated.Sinceaninactivatedlicenseonlywillworkforashortperiod
oftime,itisveryimportantthatitisactivated.Windowsprovidesadedicatedutility
(wizard)todothis.
Notethattheonlineactivationwillonlyworkthreetimes.Ifadditionalactivationsare
required,youmustcontactMicrosoftontelephone.

YoumustactivateWindowswithin30daysofinstallation.Activationhelpsverify
thatWindowsonyourcomputerisgenuineandthatithasn'tbeenusedonmore
computersthantheMicrosoftSoftwareLicenseTermsallow.Inthisway,activation
helpspreventsoftwarecounterfeiting.Youcanactivateeitheronlineorbyphone.
Toactivateonline,you'llneedanInternetconnection.Activatingbyphonerequires
interactingwithanautomatedphonesystem.
