Coatings
Spraytheunitexternallywithacorrosioninhibitor(e.g.alightoil)beforepacking.
Re-packaging
Wheneverpossible,theunitmustbestoredandtransportedinitsoriginalpacking
materialand/orcrate.Intheeventthatthismaterialisnotavailable,proceedasfollows:
•Smallunitsmustbeprotectedfromdampbybeingplacedwithinaplasticbagatleast
0.15mmthick.Anappropriatequantityofdesiccantmaterialshouldbeplacedinside
thisbag,andthebagsealed.Thesealedunitmustthenbeplacedinanappropriate
cartonorcrate,andsupportedinthecontainerbyappropriateshock-absorbing
insulation(polystyrenefoamchipsetc.).
•Largeunitsmustbeplacedinasuitablecardboardboxorwoodencrate.Theunit
mustbeprotectedagainstphysicaldamagebymeansofshock-absorbinginsulation
mats.Theboxmustbeclearlymarkedwithitscontents,andmustbestoredina
dryanddust-freearea.
Temperatureprotection
Iftheunitmustbeprotectedagainstextremesoftemperature,thecarton/cratemustbe
linedonallwalls,baseandlidwith5cmthickpolyurethaneorpolystyrenefoam.These
unitswillbeidentiedasdelicateintheapplicabledocumentation.
Thepackagemustthenbeclearlymarked:
Mustnotbetransportedorstoredintemperaturesbelow-5°Celsius.
Otherunitscannormallybestoredintemperaturesbetween-30°Cand+70°C,referto
thesystem’stechnicalspecicationsfordetails.
Note
Unlessotherwisespecied,transducersmustnotbestoredintemperaturesbelow-10°C
andabove+50°C.
