Defining Device IP Addresses
The
IP Addressing
page contains links for assigning interface and default gateway IP addresses, and
defining ARP and DHCP parameters for the interfaces. To open the
IP Addressing
page, click
System
IP Addressing
in the tree view.
Defining Default Gateways
The
Default Gateway
page contains fields for assigning Gateway devices. Packets are forwarded to
the default IP when frames are sent to a remote network. The configured IP address must belong to
the same IP address subnet of one of the IP interfaces. To open the
Default Gateway
page, click
System
IP Addressing
Default Gateway
in the tree view.
The
Default Gateway
page
contains the following fields:
Default Gateway
— The Gateway device IP address.
Remove
— Removes Gateway devices from the
Default Gateway
drop-down list, when selected
Selecting a Gateway Device:

Open the
Default Gateway
page
.

Select an IP address in the
Default Gateway
drop-down list.
3
Select the
Active
check box.
4
Click
Apply Changes
.
The gateway device is selected and the device is updated.
Removing a Default Gateway Device:
1
Open the
Default Gateway
page
.
2
Select the
Remove
check box to remove default gateways.
3
Click
Apply Changes
.
The default gateway entry is removed, and the device is updated.
Defining Gateway Devices Using the CLI Commands
The following table summarizes the equivalent CLI commands for setting fields displayed in the
Default Gateway
page.

ip default-gateway ip-
address
Defines a default gateway.
no ip default-gateway Removes a default gateway.
