Overhauling
In the case of failed or irregular alternator
recharging, completely dismantle the alterna-
tor and carry out the following checks:
- check the belt tension;
- check the tightening of the nut at the posi-
tive alternator terminal (B + ), making sure
that the washer is fitted;
- check the tightening of the nut at the ener-
gizing terminal (D+), making sure that the
washer is fitted;
- check the tightening of the nuts at the pos-
itive connector block in the engine com-
partment;
- check the tightening of the bolts fixing the
negative battery terminal on the bodyshell;
- check that the battery terminals are clean
and properly tightened.

Position the alternator as shown and re-
move the plastic protection acting on the
tabs shown.
Undo the nuts shown in the diagram;.
Undo the bolts shown in the diagram.
Using a metal-cutter disconnect all the
contacts shown and remove the plate.
